I do not suggest working with this company. Many of the employee’s continuously disrespected my father’s partner, claiming she wasn’t family. I told them and introduced her as family. Me saying she is family should be sufficient, but instead they wanted her to pay for all of her items which she was keeping. The co-owner who was working at the house and other employees continuously talked about our belongings as “crap” and “ugly”. They made sure I knew that they were frutstrated with me being in the house teleworking and I believe it was because normally they would have said a lot worse. I had neighbors and myself see them discusse and gossip about our house, the items, and myself around town. They lost and sold items that we stated and marked as not for sale. They caused damage of other items of ours and the house. This included the books they left on the drain in the garage during torrential downpours the day of the sale. This caused water damage for the books and flooded the garage. Beside just getting the date of the sale wrong in their advertisement, they also left the dumpster in the driveway during the sale. Many of these actions, sloppieness, and lack of professionalism started with top management. Thus it was not surprising to find that this lack of care was perpetuated with other employees - however there were three out of maybe 10+ employees who were increadibly empathetic and caring. If I had only interacted with them this would be a very different reveiw. When we brought up issues to one of the co-owners Rodger, initially he addressed them but was first and foremost set in defending his business partner and employees. For example, when we pointed out the wrong advertised date, they blamed the online website/newspaper. They did not take responsibility for working to either fixing the issue nor did they think that they should have had to inform us of this mistake. Again, when we stated that items were included in the photos for the sale that were not supposed to be, we were told we were breaking the contract and “ruining our sale”. By “our sale” they meant Caring Transition’s sale - not my sale as the client. They were concerned about making a profit for themselves even though I was paying for their time in addition to them getting a commission. What I stated here is not the full extent of what they broke within the house nor what all went wrong when working with them but I think you get the picture. In short, there was a constant stream of carelessness, disrespect, and flagrant disregard for our family and our belongings. When reading other reviews about other caring transition groups around the country the story seems to be similar. This is a chain I would stay well away from.
