Mission Statement

CHAMPS is committed in offering hope, improving the quality of life and reducing recidivism for youth and disadvantaged young adults by motivating a change of habits that will develop a life-changing relationship with their faith, self, others and community.



Vision Statement

We believe in creating a community that networks to:

Provide opportunities to become self sufficient, nurturing and productive adults

Develop life and social skills among youth and disadvantaged young adults

Implement recreational and social activities

Strengthen personal relations with community and self

Provide a safe and stable place to provide services



Goals

Through the next three years we are hoping to expand CHAMPS in the following areas:

Administrative:

• Develop a Board of Directors that will assist, oversee the operations and financially support CHAMPS mission and vision.
• To obtain 501(c)3 for CHAMPS
• To develop a 5 year plan.
• To develop an administrative structure that allows us to meet the program demands.
• To establish an extensive health & human service infrastructure.
• To obtain transportation (2 vans) for social events, recreational outings and activities.
• To exert great leadership (adult leaders and volunteers) capabilities in order to prosper in the years to come.
• To develop a strong consistent volunteer team.
• To expand locally as well as nationally.


Program

• To continue to make an impact in the community as well as in the world
• To develop a consistent networking relationship with Public & Private Schools, City, County, community social service agencies, churches, family centers, athletics, celebrities, foundations, business owners, individuals, law enforcement agencies, Parks and Recreation.
• To see young adults overcome unhealthy behavior to a healthy behavior.
• Assist and provide resources and services that have a safe, caring and encouraging environment that offers relevant (outreach, life and social skills and activities) programming.
• To provide (urban communities) Seattle south end (Rainier Valley, Rainier Beach and Skyway) community with social & recreational activities, life skills and other support and resource services.
• To create innovative and diversified fundraising techniques.
• To develop a faith for daily living that participates can be assisted in achieving their full potential, while being sensitive and respectful to each individual’s beliefs.
• To develop and appreciate self-confidence, esteem and respect of all participates own worth and of others.
• To consistently train and educate participates in leadership/team building in order that they will obtain the necessary skills to become economically self-sufficient, nurturing and productive adults.
