Frequently Asked Questions about Apke Total Restoration

When Apke cleans carpets, we generally will move the light and medium furniture. We do not move heavy items, breakables, electronics, and beds. After moving the item, Apke will return it to its original spot and place a plastic tab and block under the furniture to protect it from the moisture in the newly cleaned carpet.
Step 1 We run hoses into your home from the “power plant” located inside our truck. We then pretreat the carpet to loosen embedded soil, with special attention to heavy traffic areas. Step 2 Using pressurized water (500 psi at 180 degrees), we deep clean the carpet. Soil, water, and pre-treatment are immediately sucked up through a hose and returned to the waste tank in the truck. Step 3 We inspect, re-treat, and re-clean any remaining problem areas. Step 4 We use a vacuuming wand to “dry stroke” the carpet, removing excess water to speed the drying process
On average, we can usually dry out a structure in 3-4 days. In some instances, drying may take longer due to the many different building materials we encounter. Denser materials such as hardwood, floors and plaster walls will dry at a slower rate than carpet and drywall.
Apke started in 1987 as Premium Cleaning Services, Inc. with partners Robert Brandenburg and John Apke. Bob passed away in 1992 and John has been running the company ever since.
As long as your feet/shoes are clean, you can walk on the carpet immediately. Please be careful when you walk off the carpet onto another surface. The other surface (tile, vinyl or wood) may be slippery. We don’t want you to fall. We do recommend keeping toddlers and young children off the carpet until it completely dries.
