Highly recommended! I have used Remarkable Movers to move within the Upper West Side a few days ago. It was a pleasure to work with such professionals. Everything from beginning to end was better than expected. Starting with the man who visited my apartment and explained the process and the price for the move and ending with a crew of four movers who were led by a competent professional. Last weekend I moved into a pretty small loft studio in a walk up building. Being a girl moving out on my own, I had lots of anxiety about the excess furniture and clothing I had. I was bugging out about whether or not everything would fit in my new apt and also wondering how the heck it would even get up to my apt with the tiny hallways and room in the actual apt.

Comer and Danny from Remarkable Movers showed up right on time and the entire day was a complete breeze...at least for me! I kept looking at my mom thinking "wow, this day really isn't as stressful as I imagined it to be"! They were extremely friendly, calm and easy going which was immediately refreshing not to be spending the day with sketchy movers....I experienced that the last time I moved. Then they maneuvered my furniture up narrow stairs and lifted my heavy furniture through the air, over railings, not making any dents or scratches to get everything into my little loft apt!! They seriously made moving out on my own so easy and not stressful. Not to mention they also put together my bed as a last minute request on my end.

I had a horrible situation moving my business. We scheduled the move then ran into big problems w/construction and had to move everything back out after 4 hours of moving it all in. We hired them on October 29th to take a truckload from 1 house and 3 storage units and move it all under one roof-a total nightmare for us no matter which way you look at it. Our 4 guys showed up on time and extremely professional and never even blinked an eye when they found out how big the job was actually going to be. They totally rolled with it, they were fast, courteous, carefully packed and moved everything as if it were there own despite all the lugging and me barking orders on where everything was supposed to go (2 floors plus a basement!). The best
First started looking for a moving company on moverreviews since I felt we had a difficult move ahead. We have many antiques that, if damaged, cannot be replaced. We also had 3,000 sq.ft of home that we had lived in for 15 years to move. To make everything more difficult, we were not taking everything. We were moving what we wanted to keep and leaving the rest until we vacated the house in a few months. When the estimator from Remarkable Movers called to give us a quote, he had to really look beyond what was in each room since some of it was going and some not. And, to make everything better, he told me my 14" long long-arm quilting table could be moved intact instead of breaking it down into parts. This has saved me many, many hours. The other moving companies I contacted told me that they would have to charge me the same amount it would cost to ship a boat to have it moved in one piece because of it's size. The estimate came in as the highest of the three I called for. The companies were Allied, United, and Wheaton. However, the final cost was the lowest of any of the estimates once
they had weighed the truck. The part of this move I most appreciate was that even though I had said I would do part of the packing, I realized I was not going to be able to do it all. I called the company. They sent out people a day ahead of schedule who immediately went into each room with me and started organizing what I had already done, and continuing on. Since the main problem was that I was running out of space in the house, they brought the moving van out a day early also so we could put the packed things into it creating more space in the house just to see where we were at!!! They went through each room several times to determine what we were taking and what was to be left. They were cordial, polite, and had a sense of humor. Remarkable Movers was great. When they arrived at our new house, they unpacked, stacked, and did everything they said they would do. I do not own stock in this company and I have to thank epinions for making me aware they exist. I would definitely recommend Remarkable Movers using them especially if you are in the Brooklyn or New York Area. Our Driver was Mike and the Estimator was Frank Lenore. When I decided to relocate from New York City to Colorado I wanted to hire professional movers. About five weeks before the move I had two moving companies look-over my possessions to be moved and offer quotes. Although Remarkable Movers was somewhat higher in price, I went with them for a variety of reasons, and it turned out to be a good choice.
Getting Quotes
I originally intended to get quotes from three companies. But Mayflower and United Van Lines offered similar prices to do the move, plus Remarkable Movers was much more professional and organized than Mayflower's. I also liked how the Remarkable Movers agent explained the whole process and exactly which steps I would need to take to make it a successful move.
Before the move
I made sure I packed everything so items were not rattling around and boxes would not mash down. Items that were hard to box-up got wrapped in shrink wrap. (Some items the mover will wrap, like furniture). Also, I confirmed the move date about two weeks ahead of time, just to make sure the mover remembered me!
Moving Day
A representative from Remarkable Movers called the day before the move with a 2-hour window when they would arrive on moving day. They arrived on time the next day with a full-sized moving truck (there were other loads on the truck). They first double-checked which items would be moved, which should not be loaded and laid-down protective covers on the carpets. Next, they went through and numbered every item with a small sticker. This is your inventory of contents. It took just under 4 hours to load everything, which included disassembling a queen-sized bed and boxing up both the mattress and box spring. The movers pointed out how some items were already scratched and/or dented before they touched them.
In the end the move-out went well. The movers and driver were reasonably courteous and careful about moving everything. I tipped the two movers and the driver $25 each, and gave the driver very specific directions to my new place. United called me a few hours later to confirm the pick-up, which I greatly appreciated. They called again a few hours later to say the load was weighed and the original price of $3,200 would ''only'' be $2,500. This largely occurred because I donated or threw out quite a few items I originally planned to move.
Delivery
I was given a 3-day window for delivery of the goods. The driver called the morning of the first possible day and said: ''I'll be there in 15 minutes''. Yikes! I had to run to the bank and get a Cashiers check for payment. In the meantime the driver and two movers scoped out how to move my stuff up to the second floor of an apartment building. I got lucky in that the road in front of my apartment was big enough to accommodate a full-sized rig. If it was too narrow they would have off- loaded everything onto a smaller truck and charged over $500 more!

We had absolutely no complaints with this company or the movers that came in to do our move. The moving crew was polite and professional and even asked us if we wanted to follow them to the truck weighing station for our weight. Our weight was 340 pounds less than our estimate and they deducted $68.00 off of our bill and just were really nice and pleasant to deal with. My next door neighbor is moving from Florida to Brooklyn in April and already scheduled with them – Remarkable Movers for her move because of my experience. Good company.
