NAEMT PHTLS Pre Hospital Trauma Life Support INSTRUCTOR COURSE 2 DAY 10th Edition July 19, 2024 and July 20, 2024 Saving American Hearts, INC. 6165 Lehman Drive Suite 202 Colorado Springs, Colorado 80918.

To come to the instructor course, you must have a PHTLS card that was issued within the last 12 months. Even if you have 3 years left before your card expires, it must have been issued within the last 12 months to participate. (Per NAEMT Rules)

If you do not have one, you will need to retake a provider class and get a new card. If you take the 2 day provider class with us, you will not be charged for the instructor class.

NAEMT has specific requirements to become an approved instructor, as outlined below. To obtain approval, all of these requirements must be met.

Hold a current license or certification as an EMT or Paramedic.

Successfully complete the NAEMT provider course for the program for which you wish to serve as an instructor. Be affiliated with at least one Authorized NAEMT Training Center, either as a current member of their faculty, or as an instructor candidate.

Complete and submit the online NAEMT Instructor Application. Note: Please have any required documents available before beginning Instructor Application. http://www.naemt.org/education/become-an-instructor

Successfully complete the NAEMT Instructor Preparation course. This course is only required to be taken one time.

Note: NAEMT will recognize those individuals as NAEMT Instructor Candidates who have completed steps 1-5 above.

Meet any other instructor requirements determined by your NAEMT training center.

Be monitored by an NAEMT Affiliate Faculty at your NAEMT training center as you teach your initial classroom provider course. Hybrid courses do not qualify for monitoring.

Affiliate Faculty must submit Instructor Monitoring form to NAEMT indicating approval. Note: Instructor Candidates must have successfully completed their provider course within the last 12 months to be eligible for monitoring. Current providers who completed their provider course prior to the last 12 months will need to retake the full course, take the refresher course, or take the 8-hour online continuing education modules as a prerequisite to monitoring.

Upon receipt of Instructor Monitoring Form with approval from Affiliate Faculty, you will be designated by NAEMT as an approved NAEMT instructor for the specific NAEMT education program and an Instructor card will be issued.

Maintain your approved instructor status by: teaching at least the minimum number of courses required to maintain instructor status for each course. (For AMLS, EPC, PHTLS, TECC and TCCC, the minimum is 1 of each course per year. For other courses, the minimum is 1 of each course per edition.) Course refreshers, hybrid courses and derivative courses (PHTLS for First Responders or TECC-LEO) may count as the minimum one course; successfully completing all Instructor Updates, as required; maintaining current contact information with NAEMT Headquarters by emailing new information to education@naemt.org.
