DO NOT LET THIS MAN INTO YOUR HOUSE!!!! Patrick Mendez was hired as a HVAC subcontractor by my General Contractor. From day one, Pat ignored the overall design plan and just did what he wanted. He placed ducts where he wanted them without consulting with the GC for their placement. He uses inferior furnaces and AC units. The heating unit is in an upstairs laundry room. Pat made the unit overly large by using round ducts for the cold air returns instead of creating square returns because Pat doesn't know how to 'bend tin' and make ducts (like every other HVAC professional). This resulted in an approximate 33% increase in size and required the movement of the utility sink. Additionally, the system didn't work after Pat left. When he came back to fix it, it worked for a period, then failed to start once cold weather came. A new HVAC professional found that Pat had failed to ground the ignitor correctly. Finally, Pat leaves a mess! He left all the wood filings from running gas lines all over my basement and smeared the duct sealant all over the brand-new tile floors in the laundry room as well as leaving construction debris INSIDE the air exchanger of the furnace! To add insult to injury, Pat billed my GC for additional money for the ducts he had to move (because he never checked to see where they were supposed to go) and placed a lien on my home before he even sent the bill! He then sent me (the homeowner) taunting text messages demanding payment! He was a sub, hired by my GC! I never paid him or hired him! This guy is a joke and the most unprofessional, incompetent tradesman I have ever had the displeasure of encountering. DO NOT HIRE THIS GUY!
